Step 3: Set Up Product Catalog

What is the difference between a Product Catalog and a Product Set?

  • A Product Catalog is your full inventory, which includes all your products along with their details like titles, descriptions, prices, and availability.
  • A Product Set is a smaller, filtered group of products from your catalog. You can create sets using specific rules or conditions, such as price range, product category, or availability.

How to set up your product catalog?

  • If not done setting up a product catalog, create a catalog from Shopify.

Customize Dynamic Product Ad (Retargeting)

This step allows you to retarget people who have visited and viewed your product pages. You can go to this section by scrolling down to the “Dynamic Product Ad (Retargeting)” as shown below”

Settings page for Facebook Ads showing various tools for ad creation and audience targeting.

Step 1: Select the Product Set

A Product Set is a filtered group of products within a catalogue used for targeting or campaign segmentation.

  • Promoted Product Set: Click “Choose” and select your desired product catalog.
  • A product catalog will appear. Select the product set you want to promote.
  • You will see a “Rules” section.

When creating a product set, rules help you choose which products appear in your ads.

  • Include rules add specific products to your set based on filters
  • Exclude rules remove certain products, even if they match the included criteria.

Note: The products selected in your product set are the exact products that will appear in your ads. Make sure your filters match what you want to show to your audience. For example, if your include rules only allow two types of cookies, then only those two products will be featured in your ads. Using precise rules helps ensure that your promotions are relevant and well-targeted.
