What is the Facebook (Meta) Pixel? It is an analytics tool that helps you track website actions (like purchases), measure ad performance, and build specific audiences for retargeting. By collecting visitor behavior data, the pixel allows you to show ads to people who are more likely to convert.

Why do I need the Facebook Pixel?

Once installed on your website, the Facebook Pixel enables you to:

  • Track conversions generated by your ads
  • Understand how visitors interact with your store
  • Retarget website visitors with relevant ads
  • Optimize campaigns based on real performance data

If you want to use the same Facebook Pixel across multiple ad accounts, you’ll need to link those ad accounts to the pixel in Meta Business Manager. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Meta Business Manager.
  2. Navigate to Data Sources > Pixels.

  3. Select the Pixel you want to manage.
  4. Ensure your personal account has the Pixel Admin role. (If not, click Add People and assign the role).
  5. Turn on Manage Pixel permissions.
  6. Click Add Assets.
  7. Select the Ad Account you want to link to the pixel.
  8. Click Add, then Done.
  9. Check Connected Assets to confirm the pixel is linked successfully.

Pro Tip:

  • If the Pixel doesn't appear under "Data Sources," check the "Datasets" section in Business Manager, as Meta is currently migrating Pixels into Datasets.
  • Always verify that the Ad Account is in the same Business Manager as the Pixel; otherwise, you may need to share the Pixel as a partner asset first.
