A Website Visitors Retargeting Ad targets people who have previously visited your website—regardless of which pages they viewed—and encourages them to return and complete an action such as browsing products again or making a purchase.

With this retargeting option, you can customize your audience rules, including:

  • Include visitors who viewed product pages, collections, or added items to cart within a specific time period
  • Exclude visitors who recently purchased to avoid showing ads to customers who have already converted

This helps you re-engage warm audiences who have shown interest in your store but haven’t yet completed a purchase.

When you choose Website Visitors Retargeting, you are creating ads that reach people who have already visited your website or product pages, or who abandoned their cart. This step lets you select the type of retargeting campaign you want to run.

1. Standard Retargeting (Default)

This option retargets all eligible website visitors based on your chosen time window.

It reaches:

  • People who visited any page on your website
  • Visitors who viewed your product pages
  • Cart abandoners

Use this when:

You want to show the same ad creative to all visitors who showed interest, without breaking the audience into different time segments.

2. Sequential Retargeting

Sequential Retargeting allows you to show different ad creatives to the same audience depending on how long it has been since they visited your site.

For example:

  • Day 1–3 after visit → Show a reminder or product benefits ad
  • Day 4–7 after visit → Show a stronger incentive (e.g., free shipping)
  • Day 8–14 after visit → Show a final offer or urgency message

This creates a sequence of ads that follow your customer’s journey and increases conversion chances by adjusting messaging over time.

Use this when:

You want more control and want to deliver personalized messages based on recency of engagement.

Important Note
If your website does not have individual product pages (for example, all products are displayed only on the homepage), we recommend using a Website Visitors Retargeting Ad instead of a Dynamic Product Ad, since Dynamic Product Ads require product-level page views to function properly.
