Want to ask AI “which campaign performed best last month?” without exporting a report or building a spreadsheet first?
Connect Akohub to ChatGPT or Claude to query your organization’s store operations and Akohub app data directly in a conversation. AI can help you analyze the data, identify useful trends, and determine what to do next.
For example, you can ask:
- “Analyze sales and repurchase rates by loyalty tier for the last 90 days”
- “Compare discount strategies and results across past campaigns”
- “Export customer order details with loyalty tiers and points”
The connection uses MCP (Model Context Protocol). Think of MCP as a secure bridge that lets your AI tool read your organization’s data. Each connection requires your authorization. Akohub currently provides read-only access, so AI tools cannot modify or delete data in your store or Akohub apps.
What is the Akohub platform?
Store operations data is often spread across different tools, such as orders, customer, marketing, and logistics data. When you manage multiple stores, getting an overall view of your operations can mean switching between different admin interfaces.
Akohub platform brings your stores, team members, and Akohub apps together under one organization, making it easier to manage and access data across your apps.
You can also connect Akohub to ChatGPT or Claude to query your store operations data directly in an AI conversation, without exporting reports or manually organizing the data.
Before you start
Make sure all three of the following are ready:
- Your organization has enabled the AI tool. An organization owner or admin can enable ChatGPT or Claude from the App connections page in Akohub. If the tool hasn't been enabled, members won't be able to access the MCP URL. Contact your organization owner or admin to enable it first.
- Your AI plan supports custom connectors. Support varies by plan. See “Plan availability” under each AI tool below.
- Get the MCP URL. Go to Akohub > App connections, select the enabled AI tool, and copy the MCP URL. All organizations and members use the same URL:
https://platform.akohub.com/mcp
💡 The MCP URL does not need to be kept secret. The URL itself contains no account information. Access is controlled by the Akohub authorization step, so someone cannot read your data just by having the URL.
Connect ChatGPT
-
Copy the MCP URL below:
https://platform.akohub.com/mcp - Turn on Developer mode based on your ChatGPT plan:
- Plus / Pro: Go to Settings > Apps > Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
- Business / Enterprise / Edu: Ask your workspace admin to enable Developer mode first. For Business, the admin must create and publish the custom MCP app.
- In Apps, click Create, select “Connect to custom MCP,” and paste the MCP URL. Then click “Allow access” on the Akohub authorization screen.
- Start a new ChatGPT conversation and select “Akohub” in the message, or type “@Akohub” and select it from the list. You can then query your organization’s store operations data and get analysis and marketing recommendations.

⚠️ Note: Select Akohub in the message when you need to use its data. If the AI doesn’t return your store data, check that Akohub is selected.
Plan availability (ChatGPT)
- Plus / Pro: You can enable Developer mode and connect to the custom MCP app yourself.
- Business: An admin or owner must enable Developer mode and create and publish the custom MCP app.
- Enterprise / Edu: An admin or owner must grant Developer mode access; authorized members can then create and connect the custom MCP app themselves.
- Free: This connection method is not supported.
Connect Claude
-
Copy the MCP URL below:
https://platform.akohub.com/mcp - Connect based on your Claude plan:
- Pro / Max: Go to Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector and paste the MCP URL.
- Team / Enterprise: Ask your organization admin to add the connector under Organization settings > Connectors first. Each member can then go to Settings > Connectors and click Connect.
- Click “Allow access” on the Akohub authorization screen.
- Start a Claude conversation and turn on Akohub from “+ > Connectors.” You can then query your organization’s store operations data and get analysis and marketing recommendations.
💡 The Akohub connector stays active for the current conversation. Once it is turned on, you can ask questions in natural language.
Plan availability (Claude)
- Pro / Max: You can add the custom connector yourself under Settings > Connectors.
- Team / Enterprise: An organization admin must add the connector first. Members can then connect and authorize individually.
- Free: You can add one custom connector.
Start asking questions
Once you're connected, start with a simple question such as:
“Which stores does my organization have?”
Once you confirm that the AI can read your data, you can start asking about the operational questions that matter to you.
Want ideas for what to ask? Go to Akohub > AI operations for a full prompt guide covering loyalty segmentation, campaigns, products and categories, and retention. Every prompt is ready to copy and use.

Manage your authorizations
- View and revoke: Go to Akohub > Personal settings > Security. Under “Authorized AI tools,” you can see the AI tools you've authorized and when they were last active. Click “Revoke” to immediately prevent an AI tool from reading organization data through your account. To use it again, simply reconnect and authorize it.
- What your authorization covers: Authorization is granted per Akohub account. Once authorized, an AI tool can read data from every organization you belong to where access for that tool is enabled. If you join another organization later and it has enabled the tool, it will automatically be covered by your existing authorization.

- Organization-level access: An organization owner or admin can disable an AI tool at any time from the App connections page. When disabled, the authorization for that tool is immediately revoked for all members, and existing connections stop working. After the tool is re-enabled, members need to reconnect and authorize it again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've connected Akohub, but the AI can't read my store data. What should I do?
Check the following in order:
- ChatGPT: Make sure Akohub is selected for the message.
Claude: Make sure Akohub is turned on under “+ > Connectors” in the conversation. - Confirm that your organization still has access enabled for the AI tool. An admin may have disabled it.
- Go to Personal settings > Security and confirm that your authorization is still active. If needed, revoke it and reconnect.
Q: Can I use the same connection for multiple organizations?
Yes. Authorization is managed at the Akohub account level, so one connection can cover all organizations where the AI tool is enabled.
When asking questions, name the organization or store you want to query to help avoid using data from the wrong organization.
Q: Can AI modify my store or Akohub data?
No. Akohub currently provides read-only access through MCP. AI tools cannot create, modify, or delete data in your store or Akohub apps.
Q: Does the MCP URL need to be kept secret?
No. The MCP URL is the same for all users and does not contain account information. Access to your data requires Akohub authorization.
Q: Should I use ChatGPT or Claude?
Both ChatGPT and Claude are supported. You can use whichever AI tool your team already uses.
The setup and connection behavior are slightly different for each tool:
- ChatGPT: Setup requirements vary by plan. Depending on your plan, an admin may need to complete the setup, while Plus / Pro users can connect it themselves. When you need to use Akohub data, select Akohub in the message.
- Claude: Setup requirements also vary by plan. Pro / Max users can add the custom connector themselves, while Team / Enterprise requires an organization admin to add it first. Once Akohub is enabled, it remains active for the current conversation.
Q: Can I connect Akohub to Gemini?
Akohub currently supports ChatGPT and Claude for custom MCP connections.
Gemini does not currently support connecting to custom MCP servers in the same way. We will update this guide when support becomes available.
Q: Why can't I see the Enable button on the App connections page?
Only organization owners and admins can enable AI tools from App connections.
If you are a member and cannot see the Enable button, ask your organization owner or admin to enable the AI tool for you.
